Aromatic wine, with richness as well as soft tannins. It's quite a mouthful of explosive red berry fruits, with delicious acidity. The finish is is eas and rounded.
This is absolutely ready to drink now, showing some lovely perfume that runs through the extremely well balanced palate. It's one of the few that was hard to spit out because the juice grabs you right from the first attack, but it's not in any way a blockbuster. Enjoy this with simple food, don't crowd the flavours, as this is delicacy personified. A great second wine for lovers of gentle elegance, this tiptoes along nicely. Drinking Window 2018 - 2028.
Delicate and refined with aromas and flavors of berries, cedar, and tobacco. Medium to full bodied, fine tannins and fruity, chocolaty finish. Second wine of Margaux. Try it in two years.
The 2008 Pavillon Rouge de Margaux has a bright raspberry pastille and strawberry scented bouquet with just a slight copper piping aromas tucked underneath that personally I found distracting. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, quite edgy tannin. I admire the fruit here, tobacco-tinged blackberry and bilberry, more graphite scents surfacing towards the finish. It feels persistent in the mouth and should offer another five or six years in drinking pleasure.
