This is a serious sauvignon blanc that shows excellent depth of limes swathed in a flinty, almost briny background. Oyster shells, chalk, gooseberries and steely green and white stone fruit. A touch of salinity and phenolic structure delivers a gastronomic sensibility. Full-bodied, zingy and broad. Vegan. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The 2023 Chardonnay Vetas Blancas combines grapes from two vineyards in the Limarí Valley: one next to the Pacific Ocean and the other on inland slopes. Aged for eight months in oak barrels, this greenish wine unfolds creamed corn and pear aromas along with an oaky peach backdrop. Dry and faintly chalky, the saline mouthfeel leads to a savory finish—a delicate, beautiful white.
