The new release of Apanage is a complex Champagne based on three vintages 2018, 2015 and 2012 showing a bright Champagne colour with slightly green-golden hue. Very refined nose with elegant aroma reminiscent of ripe pear and starfruit, hints of lemon zest, discreet minerali-ty with a slightly iodine character, oyster shells, hints of green hazelnuts in the background. On the palate wonderful mousseux with freshness and creamy texture, fine minerality with again a hint of oyster shells, excellent depth and length.
Accessible and inviting, this aromatic palette features notes of brioche and hazelnut. The inclusion of reserve wines enhances the blend, adding a lovely patina. The texture is more enveloping and airy, while the overall mouthfeel is richer and more voluminous. It opens with a complex bouquet that combines citrus confit, peach, and dried papaya, complemented by hints of iodine, brioche, and honeycomb. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied, broad, and vinous experience, with a rich, layered core supported by significant structure and tension. The finish is long and precise. So delicious, wish it was a magnum ;)
