The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tintot offers more black fruits, olive tapenade, charred meats and graphite, as well as a huge, concentrated, incredibly pure style on the palate. While the Quet is all about opulence and pleasure, this has a more focused, pure style, while not losing a beat on concentration and purity. I'd gladly put this up against Beaucastel's Hommage cuvée. Enjoy this incredible expression of Châteauneuf du Pape anytime over the coming 20-25 years.

Almost opaque in color, there is a richness that comes from old vines that cannot be lost, even if you tried. Spicy and dense, the wine coats your palate, but with elegance, and not just extract. Light on its feet, due to the freshness, the wine sticks with you and just doesn't want to leave. The end notes carry through with a black cherry and plum liqueur essence that you just want more of. The wine was made from a blend of 85% old vine Mourvedre and 15% Grenache. This is really great juice that deserves to be tasted!

The Mourvèdre-dominated 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Tintot sports an inky color as well as serious, full-bodied, decadent notes of black and blue fruits, roasted herbs, melted licorice and cured meats. It’s certainly not for those craving lightweight aromas and flavors, has sensational mid-palate depth and masses of sweet tannin, all suggesting it will be very long lived. As to the Côtes du Rhône Villages release from this estate, it’s always a smoking value that has real character. 94-96
