This is a perfect example of the greatness that Beaune achieves, but which is rarely recognized outside of a couple of famous wines. The kind of depth and complexity that not every Burgundian grand cru achieves, the ample fine tannins wrapped in a thick blanket of beautifully ripe red fruit. Very long finish with a wonderfully powdery texture and delicate minerality. From a 0.5-hectare plot. From organically grown grapes. A good proportion of whole cluster fermentation. Drink or hold.
