96-98 Dark purple. Powerful dark berry, incense, olive, licorice, allspice and floral aromas are complemented by suggestions of mocha and vanilla. Sweet, broad and chewy on the palate, offering concentrated blackberry, cherry liqueur, smoky bacon and candied violet flavors that are given spine and lift by a core of juicy acidity. Clings with superb tenacity on the penetrating finish, shaped by steadily mounting tannins. All de-stemmed fruit and 50% new oak.
