My favorite of the trio, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Petits Pieds D'Armand is magical stuff – let’s hope it shows this well from bottle! Black raspberries, blueberries, wildflowers, white pepper, garrigue, and all kinds of Southern Rhône goodness emerge from the glass, and it's full-bodied, with a deep, layered mouthfeel, gorgeous tannins, and a great finish. It's just about overflowing with Provençal charm and is a head-turning Châteauneuf du Pape in the making!
All Grenache from the west portion of the famed La Crau lieu-dit aged in old barrels for 16 months, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Petits Pieds D'Armand offers a wonderful array of ripe strawberry, framboise, orange blossom, and flowery incense that changes and develops beautifully with time in the glass. With full-bodied richness on the palate, it has a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, terrific fruit, and outstanding length. This sexy, fruit-forward, balanced, and shockingly elegant Grenache will evolve for 15+ years.
