What a delight the 2013 Nuits Murger is! The bouquet is spicy, penetrating with subtle hints of smoke, leather and dark berries. All in a delicate manner which invited repeated sniffing. On the palate the wine is in harmony with the bouquet. Brisk, fresh, persistent with a core of smoky dark cherries and a long finish that goes on and on. Like most 2013s this is on the sleek and elegant side of Pinot Noir. This is a lovely red Burgundy from one of Nuits St. Georges’ five best vineyards. The wine will be especially appreciated by lovers of Barbarescos. The wine is delightful to drink today. It will drink just as well a few years from now. Give a couple of hour to open. The price may make you blink—it is about ½ of what a more recent vintage would cost.
