A serious wine that will require patience, the 2021 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru unwinds in the glass with aromas of dark berries, sweet spices, vine smoke, rose petals and cherries. Full-bodied, cool and layered, it's seamlessly structured, with impressive reserves of concentration and sweet structuring tannin. Having visited the parcel a few days before harvest, I can attest that it wasn't easy to find finer fruit in the Côte de Nuits this year; 14 months later, the proof is in the glass. 94-96
